I m building a new home outside the city limits in liberty county in texas my electrician ran the main power feed wire from the meter through the exterior wall up into the attic and down into the breaker panel without any conduit. Also press a rope of duct seal around the top of the lb to keep water out. Conduit runs are hidden under the panels and inside attics not run over the top of the roof. Ensure there are three or fewer 90 degree turns from the attic to the designated 4 ftx 4 ft plywood area or provide for accessible pull boxes as required by the national electric code.
